This archive recording of the Bach 2 Part Invention 3 in D Major (BWV 774) dates back to 2010. It captures a moment in my personal musical journey and serves as a foundational reference for students currently studying the Inventions and Sinfonias.

Studio Note: I am currently preparing a “Then vs. Now” comparison post featuring a more recent performance of this same piece. Stay tuned to see how a decade of practice changes one’s perspective on Bach!

The Bach 2 Part Invention 3 is a spirited work in 3/8 time. It is a fantastic study for intermediate pianists looking to develop independence between the hands and a light, articulated touch characteristic of the Baroque era.

For those interested in the historical context of these works, you can explore the IMSLP Bach Archive for original manuscripts and scores.

Recorded in 2010. Part of the Piano Lessons Cork Legacy Series.
